SB 608 – I/DD Services Waiting List Transparency
Primary Sponsors: Sen. Tommy Tucker (R – Union), Sen. Joyce Krawiec (R – Forsyth), Sen. Rick Horner (R – Johnston)
This bill seeks to provide greater transparency with the Registry of Unmet Needs for the NC Innovations Waiver and the waiting list for State-funded intellectual and developmental disability (I/DD) services.
The bill would require an LME/MCO to provide the number of individuals who are on each of these lists to the Department of Health and Human Services starting on October 1, 2017. This would be required twice a year
The following information would be required in each report:
- Age
- Ethnicity
- Current living arrangement
- Length of time on waiting lists
- Documented services and supports needed by the individual upon their first request
- Documented services and supports currently needed
- Any documented co-occurring mental health or substance abuse needs
- Any documented primary disability or secondary disability of the individual
- The county where the individual lives, and the county of residence for Medicaid eligibility
