HB 297 – Psychology Compact (PSYPACT)

This bill would establish a interjurisdictional compact.
The bill is designed to increase professional psychological services by allowing for telepsychological practice across states lines as well as temporary, in person face to face services into a state which the psychologist is not licensed to practice.
All participants in this compact must hold a graduate degree in psychology, possess a full license in a state that s a member of the compact, have no history of adverse action, and no criminal history.
The bill states that the home state maintains authority over the license of any psychologist practicing into a receiving state.
The bill allows psychologists temporary authorization to practice psychology in a Compact State.
The bill allows a psychologist in to practice telepsychology in accordance to the telepsychology scope in the state.
