NC Heart HealthyThe North Carolina Medical Society (NCMS) in partnership with the North Carolina Drug Card reminds physicians that patients who aren’t insured or who take prescription drugs that aren’t covered by their health insurance plans, can use the free North Carolina Drug Card to obtain discounts of up to 75 percent off the retail price for FDA-approved medications.
North Carolina Drug Card has been working closely with the NCMS, as well as numerous clinics and hospitals around the state to distribute free discount prescription cards so that all North Carolina residents will have access to this free program. The program can also be used by people that have health insurance coverage with no prescription benefits, which is common in many health savings accounts (HSA) and high deductible health plans.
Patients who don’t have access to a computer and can’t obtain a card online may visit any CVS/pharmacy, the North Carolina Drug Card preferred pharmacy, and ask to have their prescriptions processed through the North Carolina Drug Card program.
Please help by encouraging your patients to print a free North Carolina Drug Card at the NCMS website or at www.northcarolinadrugcard.com.  The North Carolina Drug Card also is available as an app for iPhone and Android.  Just search “Free Rx iCard” in the app store.
