According to the CDC, about 37 million Americans have diabetes. More than 1 in 3 North Carolinians have prediabetes, where blood glucose (sugar) levels are elevated but not high enough for a person to be diagnosed with diabetes.

A new study suggests a low-carbohydrate diet may help individuals diagnosed with prediabetes lower their blood glucose without medication.
