HB 662 – Carolina Cares

This bill would provide health coverage to the residents of NC under the Carolina Cares Program.
The goal of this bill is to address the needs of the citizens of NC who are ineligible for Medicaid due to their income levels, but are unable to afford health insurance.
The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) would be responsible for creating this program called “Carolina Cares”.
The Department would advocate to the federal government to receive the maximum financial participation possible.
