Bill Summary
This bill would appropriate the following amounts from the General Fund to the Department of Public Instruction:
- $10,000,000 in recurring funds 2019-2020
- $20,000,000 in recurring funds 2020-2021
- $30,700,000 in recurring funds for 2021-2022
This funding would be used to allocate local school administrative units to increase positions for school nurses. Priority for these funds would be based on a ratio of school nurses to students that is lower than the state average and a student population that is growing at an above average State rate.
