This bill would appropriate $5 million for the 2017-2018 fiscal year for child advocacy centers.
The funds would be allocated as follows:

  • Up to $100,000 for each child advocacy center in good standing with Children’s Advocacy Centers of North Carolina Inc.;
  • $1 million to Children’s Advocacy Centers of North Carolina Inc., to establish new child advocacy centers in the State where a child advocacy center is not currently located;
  • $100,000 to Children’s Advocacy Centers of North Carolina, Inc. for its operations;
  • Any remaining funding will revert to the General Fund

This bill has been referred to the House Appropriations Committee.
