In 2021, the Duke-Margolis Center for Health Policy team convened an advisory panel of experts from across North Carolina and beyond, including representation from the North Carolina Medical Society (NCMS), to develop an integration strategy for the dual-eligible population.
After a year and a half of research, discussion, and drafting, the Duke-Margolis Center for Health Policy recently released its report, “North Carolina Medicare-Medicaid Integration: Advancing Whole Person Care.”
The report outlines a framework for an integrated design and implementation for whole-person, patient-centered care using D-SNPs and PACE with the dual-eligible population.
The report is accompanied by a practical guide for other states to use in developing an evidenced-based Medicare-Medicaid integration strategy.
