First coronation ceremony in 70 years.  Charles II is longest serving Prince of Wales ever at 64 years (talk about a long road to the job)!

There are many events being held across the state.  You can watch the coronation live on many platforms including ABC and CNN.  It will be an early start, with coverage beginning at 5am.  A Coronation Garden Party is being held to celebrate His Majesty King Charles and Her Majesty Queen Camilla at the Executive Mansion in Raleigh.  Click here for more information.

Hats, horses, and mint juleps!

The 149th running of the Kentucky Derby

The greatest two minutes in sports is Saturday.  You can watch live coverage starting at 2:30pm on NBC and Peacock.  There are 20 horses ready to compete, but look for Forte at 3-1 odds as the favorite.  Look for strong competition from Tapit Trice at 5-1 odds.  If you want to bet on a long shot try Reincarnate (50-1), Hit Show (30-1), or Sun Thunder (50-1).  If you can’t make it to Churchill Downs then take some time and sing ‘My Old Kentucky Home’ to celebrate!

The Irregardless Tour lands in Raleigh.
