The 2026 Advocacy Summit will take place Friday, March 20 – Saturday, March 21, at the DoubleTree Raleigh Durham Airport, bringing together physicians, PAs, and policymakers to discuss key healthcare policy issues in North Carolina. The Summit serves as a platform for education, collaboration, and advocacy—empowering healthcare professionals to engage directly with policymakers and shape the future of healthcare in the state.

Friday, March 20

The Summit begins with a Legislative Reception (6–8 p.m.), offering members a chance to connect with legislators and discuss pressing healthcare issues in an informal setting.

Saturday, March 21

There will be a variety of sessions and speakers throughout the day discussing advocacy and policy initiatives in North Carolina. Sessions include:

  • The Future of North Carolina Medicaid – examining recent changes and their impact on physicians and patients.
  • The Growing Role of Value-Based Care – understanding how shifting to quality-based outcomes can improve care delivery.
  • Policy Changes Based on Legislation – breakout sessions addressing updates to team-based care and clinical pharmacist practitioner (CPP) rules enacted in 2025.
  • Health Information Exchange (HIE) – exploring how data sharing supports care coordination, population health, and cost reduction.
  • Minor Consent Work Group Discussions – a facilitated dialogue examining clinical, legal, and policy perspectives on minor consent.

The event concludes with a Town Hall Discussion featuring legislators and focusing on actionable strategies to lower the cost of healthcare in North Carolina.
