Uruguay and Columbia go head-to-head as NCMS cheers them on!

The Copa America semifinals in Charlotte saw a lot of drama on the field (a heated 1-0 win for Uruguay), in the stands (Uruguay players fighting Colombia supporters) and off the pitch (US coach Gregg Berhalter gets fired), BUT it was nothing but fun for the NCMS, the MEMA Board, and the Mid-Atlantic Emergency Physicians Board!

Bank of America Stadium was packed for the top men’s quadrennial football tournament contested among national teams from South America. It is the oldest continental football competition and the third most watched in the world.

NCMS’s Hannah Rice, Director of Legislative Affairs, and Toni Hill, Director of Membership and Engagement, joined MEMA President Dr. Tim Leitz and VP Dr. Steve Small with others to enjoy the action.
