HB 894 – Veteran Health Care/Pilot Program

This bill would develop a pilot program in Cumberland County to provide enhanced nc-stamphealth care access to veterans. The NC Department of Health and Human Services would be responsible for reporting the following:

  • The ways the pilot program’s health care initiative increased veterans’ access to health care resources;
  • The number of unemployed and underemployed veterans who were recruited and trained as community health workers under the pilot program’s workforce initiative;
  • The specific ways in which the NC Department of Health and Human Services Uses the funds.

This bill would appropriate $400,000 in nonrecurring funds for the 2017-2018 fiscal year and $200,000 in nonrecurring funds for the 2018-2019 year for this program.
This bill has been referred to the House Appropriations Committee.
