Bill Summary
This bill clarifies and simplifies a licensee’s licensure process.
The bill requires all licensing board to submit the following information to the Joint Legislative Administrative Procedure Oversight Committee:
- number of applicants, and number granted a license
- number of applicants with a conviction record
- number granted a license
- number denied license because of a conviction
The bill allows the board to deny a applicant a license based solely on conviction for a crime of moral turpitude.
The bill states that if an applicant is denied licensure the applicant shall be entitles to a rehearing on the issue before the board if the applicant has relevant evidence regarding the applicant’s qualifications.
