HB 653 – Report/Car Accident Caused by Seizure or Coma

This bill would require accident reports to include information as to whether an accident was caused by a driver suffering an epileptic seizure or diabetic coma. The NC Division of Motor Vehicles would be responsible for evaluating whether the driver can safely operate a motor vehicle after receiving the report.
Rep. Josh Dobson introduced a proposed committee substitute in the House Transportation Committee on April 25, 2017. The proposed committee substitute changes the license revocation portion of the bill.
