Secretary Mandy Cohen To Step Down As NCDHHS Secretary

Governor Roy Cooper announced yesterday, Monday, November 30, that North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS) Secretary Mandy K. Cohen, MD, MPH, will be stepping down from the agency after 5 years of service to the state. Governor Cooper has appointed Kody Kinsley, current NCDHHS Chief Deputy Secretary for Health and lead for COVID operations, to succeed her beginning January 1st. Read the full press release here.

2022 Innovation Pilot Awards Call for Proposals (UNC Health and UNC School of Medicine)

The Center for Health Innovation of UNC Health and the UNC School of Medicine are pleased to announce the call for proposals for the Innovation Pilot Awards for 2022.

The Center for Health Innovation initiates, evaluates, and supports the adoption of disruptive patient-centered innovations in the delivery and financing of health care that align with the quadruple aim. These innovations create a new value proposition for the customer, such as greater simplicity, convenience, and quality at a lower cost.

All UNC SOM and HCS employees from any owned affiliate are eligible to apply.

Applications are due Tuesday, January 18, 2022, at 5:00 p.m.

As many as four (4) awards of up to $50, 000 will be announced in March 2022.

General Office Hours: The orientation will cover topics such as: who is served, joining the network, tools and resources, vendor service partners, compliance, and quality management.

PT/OT/ST Office Hours: The forum will cover Physical Therapy/Occupational Therapy/Speech Therapy (PT/OT/ST) claim issues, prior authorizations, tools, and resources.
