Dr. Cedric Bright, Associate Dean for Admissions, Professor of Internal Medicine, and the interim Associate Dean of Diversity and Inclusion at the Brody School of Medicine in Greenville, was recently appointed to the state’s Andrea Harris Equity Task Force.

The Andrea Harris Equity Task Force is named for the late Andrea Harris, who was a trailblazer for minority businesses and communities. Harris became one of the youngest community agency directors in the nation, helping fight poverty across three rural North Carolina communities.

The task force is devoted to furthering the economic development of disadvantaged communities, improve health and wellness outcomes in underserved communities and advance equitable and inclusive practices within state agencies.

Congratulations, Dr. Bright.
