HB 1181 – Certain Appropriations for Education/COVID

Appropriations
- $405,000,000 to be used from the Coronavirus Relief Fund to the Office of State Budget and Management for appropriations within this bill
- $150,000,000 to the Department of Public Instruction (DPI) to improve internet connectivity for students by installing router devices in buses and providing community home access points
- $65,000,000 to DPI to allocate to local school administrative units, charter schools, and regional schools for computers or electronic devices for students and school personnel
- $25,000,000 to DPI to award grants to public school units to support extraordinary costs associated with providing services for exceptional children
- $25,000,000 to DPI for school health personnel to provide additional physical and mental health support services for students
- $15,000,000 to the Board of Governors to cover expenses for resources and supports for students impacted by COVID-19
- $60,000,000 the Board of Governors to be allocated to constituent institutions to provide institutional support for eligible expenses for resources and supports
- $10,000,000 to the Community College System Office for students
- $20,000,000 to the Community College System for support for campuses
- $35,000,000 to the Board of Governors to be allocated to the State Education Assistance Authority
