Grace E. Terrell, MD, founder and strategist at CHESS in High Point, will assume a new role as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at Envision Genomics in Huntsville, Alabama. Dr. Terrell, formerly CEO of CHESS and Cornerstone Health Care, will begin her tenure at Envision Genomics in April.
In her new position, Dr. Terrell will oversee operations at Envision Genomics, a biotechnology company that provides clinical diagnostic services including genome sequencing, data analysis and interpretation using a bioinformatics platform.
For more than 20 years, Dr. Terrell has served Cornerstone Health Care, first as a provider, then in a leadership role as CEO. In 2012, she was instrumental in founding CHESS, a population health management company with a mission to support development of value-based models at health care organizations across the country. Her vision for value-based medicine helped Cornerstone gain national recognition as an industry leader in adopting high quality, low cost care for its patients and was ranked as a top Accountable Care Organization nationally last year for quality and cost.
Dr. Terrell, a longtime North Carolina Medical Society (NCMS) member was also instrumental in the formation of the NCMS’ Toward Accountable Care (TAC) Consortium and Initiative and was a pioneer in helping guide practices in moving toward value-based care.
Though Dr. Terrell will transition to a new position in Huntsville, she will remain on the CHESS Board of Managers, and continue to see patients as a provider at Cornerstone Internal Medicine at Westchester (CIMW) in High Point several days each month.
Congratulations on your new endeavor, Dr. Terrell!
