This bill would make the chemical endangerment of a child a felony offense. Any person who intentionally causes or permits a child of less than 16 years of age to ingest, inhale or have contact with a controlled substance would be guilty of a Class D felony. Any person whose reckless disregard of this same action would be guilty of a Class G felony. Death of a child by chemical endangerment would constitute a Class B1 felony.
