The CDC recently released its maternal mortality report for 2021 and we are failing.

Between 2020 and 2021, there have been significant increases in the maternal mortality rate, specifically for our non-Hispanic black mothers. Black mothers saw a rate of 69.9 deaths per 100,000 live births in 2021, Hispanic mothers at a rate of 28 deaths per 100,000, and White mothers at a rate of 26.6 deaths per 100,000.
