The NC Division of Public Health’s Antibiotic Ally initiative is raising awareness of proper antibiotic use among school children through its Get Smart Kids’ Artwork Competition (see this year’s poster winners) and among your patients with an assortment of posters for your practice. All resources are free. Contact Kristin Pridgen, Public Health Educator at the NC Division of Public Health to order your Get Smart materials.
The North Carolina Medical Society (NCMS) along with Duke Medicine, Cornerstone Health Care, Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina and the State Health Plan for Teachers and State Employees are in the second year of a three-year grant supported by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation to implement some of the Choosing Wisely recommendations, including reducing the use of antibiotics for viral infections. Learn more about the grant and access Choosing Wisely resources for your practice.
