HB 615 – Amend Substance Abuse Professional Practice Act

This bill would amend the NC Substance Abuse Professional Practice Act by repealing the Certified Substance Abuse Residential Facility Director credential.
The bill would also clarify what constitutes as an independent study.
The bill would modify the membership of the NC Substance Abuse Professional Practice Board, and also increase the number of Board-approved education hours required for certification as a substance abuse counselor, substance abuse prevention consultant or criminal justice addictions professional.
The bill would also establish a program for impaired substance abuse professionals.
